What are Time Series Data?
The Time Series product is a sequence of satellite data points with solar irradiance values measured at regular intervals over a longer period of time. Time Series Data are detailed recordings of solar radiation at one location and constitute a record of, so to speak, fuel delivery to solar power plants.
What services do I get with Time Series Data?
Time Series Data are offered for historical reference periods or concurrently with plant operation - depending on the stage of project development. Physical variables available are global, diffuse, and direct irradiance in various projections - on tilted & horizontal surfaces or normal to the sun - and in various time steps ranging from 15 minute to monthly values. The customer provides the geographic coordinates for the site. Time Series Data are made available in csv file format and are readable as Excel spreadsheets. When Time Series Data are being used in connection with engineering design software, we offer customizing of the data interface to ensure that your application is optimally supported. Since engineering design programs are often used repeatedly during a project's lifetime, consistency of the data source is very important. Results from the planning and commissioning phase will be better comparable with irradiance data from a single data source.
Are there additional services offered?
Besides solar irradiance, other meteorological variables such as temperature, air pressure, humidity, and wind speed can be included in the time series. These additional variables are derived from a worldwide meteorological network with more than 8,000 weather stations. The combined data set consists of satellite-derived irradiance data at the target location and complementary meteorological data from the nearest weather station.
How much do Time Series Data cost?
The price depends on the length of time period covered, up-to-dateness, and time step granularity. Please ask us for a quotation.
