What is the Yield Optimizer?
The Yield Optimizer is a report that summarizes the results of a solar optimization analysis for your location. You receive a recommendation which mounting angles would be best suitable for your site and which energy yield is obtained under optimal conditions. Whenever the solar field is constructed on horizontal ground, i.e. in open space or on flat roofs, the installation angles are freely adjustable and additional gains can be realized by aligning the panels optimally. The assessment makes use of satellite data from the national weather satellite. Both installation angles, tilt and orientation, are simultaneously optimized reflecting the best choice for local climatic conditions. For example, contrary to popular belief, the optimum tilt angle is not given by the latitude. Instead of simple rules of thumb, the Yield Optimizer maximizes overall system output. Furthermore, effects of a weather tendency towards preferential morning or afternoon cloud coverage are considered and lead to an adjustment of the orientation angle by a few degrees around South.
