A map is worth a thousand words: A large selection of solar poster maps can now be ordered on focus solar's website. The offer contains solar radiation maps for PV and CSP applications and technology-specific energy yield maps which display the expected electricity yield in kWh / kWp. Viewers can directly read off expected solar electricity production from the map. Solar yield maps are calculated taking into account solar radiation, temperature, and module-specific energy conversion characteristics. For example, a map made specifically for crystalline silicon solar panels shows solar power output for south facing panels at 30° tilt. Maps are also available for power generation from thin-film solar panels such as amorphous silicon, CdTe, and CIS/CIGS, which are created on request.
